Red Dot Pistol Level 2 (Intermediate)
This 4 hour intermediate Red Dot pistol course is designed to help you improve on speed and accuracy with a reflexive sight (Red Dot) through a series of drills specifically designed to advance shooters from basic to more complex skills. This is not a beginners course (see course requirements below)
Course Objectives:
Review of proper drawing and firearm presentation techniques to improve quick dot acquisition
Review of proper sight in techniques
Complete task, conditions, and standards course of fire
Introduction to shooting on the move
Learn and improve defensive reloading techniques
Multiple target engagement techniques
Course Pre-requisites:
Completion of Lone Star Handgun Red Dot Level 1 course or equivalent (inquire with instructor if you've previously completed a basic course)
Participants must be able to clear firearm stoppages or malfunctions
Participants must be able to move above normal walking pace and assume unusual shooting positions such as kneeling, prone, etc...
This course requires the following:
Pistol with Red Dot optic and sight adjustment tool
300 rounds of ammunition (can be purchased at Lone Star Handgun)
Hearing (electronic recommended) and Eye protection (wraparound recommended)
Level 1 or 2 holster with sturdy belt and 3 magazines (ABSOLUTELY no Blackhawk Serpa holsters)
Appropriate clothing suitable for training in any weather (check forecast)
Boots or comfortable athletic shoes (closed toed)
Kneepads (highly recommended)
Speed loader (optional)
NOTE: Safety is strictly enforced. Instructors reserve the right to remove participants for safety violations or level of performance.
