LoneStar Handgun

This 4 hour pistol Red Dot course is designed to help you develop the skills necessary to properly use a reflexive sight (Red Dot). You will learn the skills necessary to properly sight, maintain, and build on additional marksmanship skills. Whether you are thinking of upgrading or buying a pistol with a red dot, transitioning or have experience, this course is for you. Approximately one hour is spent in the classroom. This prepares you for the follow on Level 2 (intermediate) and Level 3 (advanced) classes.

Course Objectives:

Review of the types of red dots and mounting options

Proper sight in techniques

Optic inspection and maintenance

Application of Red Dot marksmanship fundamentals

Skill builder drills for speed, accuracy, proper holdover among others

This course requires the following:

Pistol with Red Dot optic and sight adjustment tool

300 rounds of ammunition (can be purchased at LoneStar Handgun)

Hearing (electronic recommended) and Eye protection (wraparound recommended)

Level 1 or 2 holster with sturdy belt and 3 pouches / magazines (Absolutely no Blackhawk Serpa holsters)

Appropriate clothing suitable for training in any weather (check weather forecast)

Boots or comfortable athletic shoes (closed toed)

Kneepads (optional)

Please bring your own lunch, no refrigerator or microwave will be available.

NOTE: Safety is strictly enforced. Instructors reserve the right to remove participants for safety violations or performance factors.
